Death card in a love reading — does someone die, or is my relationship just over?

three-card on 'where is this going.' past looked soft. present was Two of Cups reversed energy in my head even though i didn't pull it — wait, present was Eight of Cups. future was Death upright.

i cried in the bathroom. googled 'death card love reading die' like a horror search. he is healthy. i am healthy. still my brain went funeral.

in love, does Death mean somebody dies — or that the relationship form dies? and if it is the relationship, is that always bad?

In love, Death is usually the form ending — not a body

Death upright in relationship questions most often means a chapter closes. The 'us as we were' ends. Sometimes that is a breakup. Sometimes it is the old pattern dying so something truer can start — only if both people change for real. With Eight of Cups before it: leaving what is empty, then a clean end. Hard. Not a death certificate. Concrete check: no more 'will someone die' pulls tonight. Ask tomorrow: what in this relationship already feels finished? Talk to him about that — not about the skeleton card.
